If you are experiencing a transaction with the response / response status = "ERROR" but there is no additional information and no Gateway ID from your Payment Gateway:
1. This is an error contacting your Payment Gateway.
2. Wait a couple of minutes then try again, or contact your gateway to see if they are experiencing network issues. Check sites like http://status.authorize.net or call your payment gateway's support.
3. Attempting the transaction directly with your gateway is not recommended, as it will create a record that does not exist in Salesforce. It also is not a reliable troubleshooting tool, as
4. If your payment gateway is not having any issues, check http://trust.salesforce.com to see if your Salesforce instance is experiencing any issues. You will need your instance number (eg. na15), which can be found in the URL in your browser window.
