Charges or Transactions are happening prior to the Payment Start Date

In order for recurring payments to begin on the start date and work properly you need to make sure that the Recurring Billing information is filled in and Payment Status is set to Recurring. 
 
This doesn't stop the Charge button from charging a customer, or programmatic charges calling the same methods using Apex code.
