Troubleshooting a new Payment Gateway setup

Follow the mapping to find what credentials you need to obtain from your payment gateway and how to set up the gateway in Salesforce.
Merchant ID
Merchant Security Key
Merchant Reference
Transaction Security Key

Note: All Chargent gateway records have the same field names, so your payment gateway credentials may be named differently (such as password, api key, etc.). Not all fields are required for all payment gateways.

If you get any error messages after setting up the gateway and running a test charge,  please email us the error messages  so we can assist.

Other troubleshooting tips:
  • Double check the credentials you are using, cut and paste again to make sure there were no errors or extra characters
  • If the credentials you are using are for testing, make sure "Test Endpoint" field is checked on the gateway record. If using production credentials, make sure it is unchecked.
  • If you are running test transactions, be sure to use the test credit card numbers and other data provided by your credit card gateway

You may need to contact your payment gateway to confirm that the credentials are still valid. Some payment gateways expire credentials after 6 months or any time a new key is generated.
