Transaction shows declined in Salesforce but was approved and charged

Chargent connects to your payment gateway and your gateway sends the transaction to your processor (Merchant Account) to be processed against the issuing credit card.  



If you have fraud detection setup in your payment gateway for Address or CVC (Credit Card Verification Code) the gateway needs to check the customers bank by authorizing a transaction to confirm everything matches.  If the bank shows a mismatch the gateway will void the request immediately however the gateway authorization may still appear to the customer and merchant account as gateway authorized.  On occasion these authorizations may stay on the credit card until the length of time where an authorization falls off (never settling with the Processor / Merchant).  

If everything comes back and the issuing credit card shows everything matches, an approval is sent and the transaction is marked as Approved.
