How do I set the outgoing receipt email to go to the billing email address for the customer?

  1. Process Automation
  2. Workflow Rules
  3. Customer Receipt
  4. Under Workflow Actions click Edit
  5. Under Email Alert Detail click Edit
  6. Under Recipient Type choose Email Field
  7. Set the Recipient to Email Field: Billing Email
  8. Click Save

You can also update this to send to users within your Salesforce Org as well by choosing the Recipient Type Users and adding them to the distribution list.
